All entries came back (both HID and PS/2), just like before, but now my keyboard backlight happily turns on/off with Fn+Space, and stays on/off as it should.

went back to device maneger, just to be sure and clicked "check for hardware change" (sorry, don't know the exact name, german Windows). I simply deinstalled all (both HID keyboards, and the PS/2) drivers, I can't figure out which is the "right one", so being the lazy couch potato as I am: Hotkey Fn+Space didn't work, Nerve Center running or not.įor the 2x HID Keyboard entries, they are auto installed by Windows upon detection. Mine could be turned on/off manually from the Nerve Center which is such a faff. I had the same problem with the backlight turning off after post and also randomly on/off for absolutely no reason, like in the middle of watching a movie of playing games.
